Used Fender Custom Shop Wildwood 10 1962 Telecaster Custom – Heavy Relic
The Perfect 10
Years ago, we approached our friends at the Fender Custom Shop with a proposal: would they build us guitars that combined the mojo of a true-to-vintage reissue with modern handfeel and comfy modern ergonomics? They were enthused about the idea, and the Wildwood 10 was born. Thanks to the Custom Shop’s incredible craftsmanship and artistry, these guitars look gorgeous, sound killer, and play like butter.
Each of these Custom Shop creations features a thin fifties-style nitrocellulose finish, which allows the voice of the resonant hand-selected tonewoods to shine through. They also have hand-wound Custom Shop pickups that are sure to inspire you to reach new heights on your sonic journey. Wildwood 10s feel great in your hands, too. Their modern 10” radius is suitable for a wide variety of styles and techniques, and their 6105 narrow-tall frets allow you to expend less energy with your left hand, especially when bending strings. To top it all off, they come with a limited edition Dealer Select Wildwood 10 hardshell case and a certificate of authenticity.
Sah-Weet Sixty-Twos
By 1962, the Telecaster had become the go-to solidbody for working musicians. While nothing in the tone formula needed to be tweaked (hey, no need to fix what isn't broken, right?), Fender did want to put a more refined spin on the Telecaster. Enter the Custom Telecaster, a guitar that was essentially the tried-and-true Tele design dressed up in its evening best. By adding binding to the top and back of a resonant alder body, Fender imparted a little extra elegance to the Tele design for a slight upcharge.
Our Wildwood 10 1962 Custom Telecaster captures the sophisticated looks and classic tone of the sixties originals. They sport a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that allows for maximum resonance along with hand-wound Custom Shop electronics and a rosewood fretboard. Speaking of fretboards, the period-correct neck shapes feature a modern 10" radius and narrow-tall 6105 frets. So, you get comfortable modern ergonomics AND vintage-style tone and mojo. We invite you to browse our selection of spectacular 1962 Custom Telecasters. We're sure that you'll find one you love amongst the many colors, relic'd finishes, and neck shapes on tap. We invite you to take one for a spin and experience the magic of a Wildwood 10 1962 Custom Telecaster.
Condition Report
This Wildwood 10 Tele is in fantastic shape! It shows hardly any signs of use, and it only has one imperfection to note: some nearly imperceptible divots in the finish on that back of the neck. Our techs have fixed it up, but you can still faintly feel them, although it doesn't affect playability or stability at all. It comes with its original hardshell case and all its case candy. If you don't mind that small issue, this is a great chance to snag a Custom Shop Tele at an awesome value!
