Sonic Evaluation

Perhaps the joy I felt playing this spectacular 60th Anniversary Tele-Bration Broadcaster can be encapsulated best by the abrupt changes in musical style I made when testing it out. I was playing some fingerstyle country and/or blues licks one moment, then I went "hmmmm," cranked the gain up, and played Nervous Breakdown by Black Flag, then switched to jazzy chord comping with the gain turned down again. Though playing Black Flag on a Broadcaster might seem blasphemous to some, it sounded equally good in all three styles--a true testament to how both Teles in general and this Tele in particular fit in everywhere! It has a warm, punchy, midrange-forward voice with a lovely sparkly high end. Single notes twang beautifully, and chords chime and jangle like fanged church bells. It has that signature percussive Tele attack, too, so it's supremely articulate. Whether country, punk, rock, blues, jazz or some genre in-between is your jam, you'll find lots to love in this serial!

Condition Report

This Tele-bration Series 60th Anniversary Broadcaster sounds great (the vintage '50s-style single-coils are the cat's meow), feels great (we're a sucker for Nocaster U neck profiles here and this one is nice!), and it's in minty-fresh shape. It has no cosmetic flaws to report (in fact, it shows hardly any signs of use), and it comes with its original hardshell case, a "Tele-Bration" story by George Fullerton, a certificate of authenticity, a Custom Shop cable, and its hangtags.
