Fire on The Mountain

Acoustic adventurers of the Wildwoodiverse,, we have a truly special treat for you today: a 2012 McPherson MG-4.5 with some sweet Grateful Dead cosmetic appointments, a redwood top, Madagascar rosewood back and sides rosewood back and sides. In the hands of the world-class luthiers at McPherson, Madagascar rosewood reaches magnificent heights, especially when paired with the California Redwood top. Redwood is sort of like cedar's scary older brother. It exhibits cedar's dynamic response, articulation, and expressiveness, but it has more headroom and punching power. Combined with the tone of Madagascar rosewood (rich and piano-like with deep lows and sparkling highs), it gives this guitar a rich, expressive voice unlike any other. If you've been looking to experience the true joy that comes from playing a luthier-built acoustic, this McPherson MG 4.5 is an awesome opportunity to do so!

Pull in to Terrapin Station

We got so carried away writing about the guitar's tone, we forgot to mention the cool Grateful Dead stuff! The signature lightning bolt logo marks the twelfth fret, and the headstock has a "Jammin' Terrapin" inlay (a reference to the artwork for the Dead's ninth album, Terrapin Station). It makes this guitar a delightful collector's piece for fans of the Grateful Dead, meteorological phenomena, reptiles, or just cool guitars with a story to tell!

Condition Report

This McPherson MG-4.5 is also in fantastic shape! It shows a fair number of small dings and scratches from normal use (most notably on the top), but nothing too egregious. Other than that, there are no cosmetic flaws to report. It also shows virtually no fretwear, so it's ready to rip for a long time! It comes with its original hardshell case, too.
