Used 1998 PRS Guitars McCarty
Sonic Evaluation
This '98 McCarty is a monster! It really does an amazing job of emulating the PAF tones of yesteryear. It has warm, rich low-end to go with broad, muscular midrange and singing high-end. The bridge pickup is balanced but on the beefier size with full frequency response across the board, and the neck pickup has Godzilla-sized low-end and sweet, singing mids and trebles. Both pickups have a beautiful rasp when you dig in that reminds me of vintage guitars and of a blues singer when they're reaaaaaallly feeling it. All in all, it presents a more robust-sounding take on a classic tone with some modern flourishes for the sake of clarity and articulation, ultimately giving the best of both worlds. We have no doubt you'll think it's a monster, too!
Condition Report
This monster McCarty is in fantastic shape! It shows some very light fretwear, and it only has a few small cosmetic imperfections to note. There are some light scratches and tiny dings in a few places, the cherry color has bled into the binding a little bit (most noticeably in the cutaway) and hardware has tarnished lightly. All in all, it's incredibly clean! It comes with its original hardshell case to boot.
