Used 2002 Jackson Guitars Dave Mustaine Y2KV
Sonic Evaluation
I was definitely swaying to the symphony of destruction when I picked up this Dave Mustaine Y2KV! Frankly, it was impossible not to crank the volume and chug away, given this serial's delightful combination of power and clarity. Overall, it's as articulate and muscular as a boydbuilder with a communications degree! The attack is percussive, and it has some beautiful note bloom after an initial dash of musical compression. The bridge pickup is warm, punchy, and open, with snarling mids, sizzling highs, and Goldilocks-approved lows.
The neck pickup packs plenty of heat, but it's a little sweeter and has more of a vocal, throaty, chewy quality in the mids--not to mention deep lows and singing highs! Beyond that, it also has excellent sustain and overall resonance, perhaps because of the neck-thru construction and string-through-body design. If you're seeking a destructive pointy guitar capable of setting cities aflame with rock and roll, check this serial out!
Condition Report
This Dave Mustaine Y2KV is in fantastic shape! It shows light sings of normal use (just some light, surface-level scratches a faint dings), and the frets show extremely light (almost zero) wear. There is one larger repaired ding on the back of the headstock by the high E tuner, but that's all there is to report! It comes with its original hardshell case, too.
