Used 1978 Fender Jazz Bass
Condition Report
Wildwoodians, every once in awhile an eldritch low-end beast appears from the depths of the Wildwood lair, and we have to close the shop and evacuate until the Wildwood Bass Department's Special Ops team can subdue it--very annoying! But, it's all worth it when we get to list such monsters on our website, and this '78 Jazz Bass is one of the meanest. It plays beautifully and has a sound that will send frightened guitar players scurrying for the hills. Also, everything from the hardware to the plastics to the tuners to the pickups to the pots is original, which is pretty awesome!
It even comes with the original owner's manual and strap!
There is a good amount of finish disruption; in fact, it seems like a previous owner might have tried to remove the finish, because the back is missing a lot of finish and has a lighter matte look with some swirls and scratches (there are also some spots on the top with disruption, but it's most noticeable on the back). There is also some checking, light wear, and hardware tarnishing from normal use. The frets show moderate wear, but it still plays easily and sitting down with it is a delightful experience. It comes with its original hardshell case, which smells like the 1970s (pretty smoky!) but is still sturdy, and the original owner's manual and strap.
