Trower of Love

Robin Trower is one of the most iconic Stratocaster players of all time, but did you know how he came to play Strats in the first place? Well, during a tour with Jethro Tull, Trower happened to see Martin Barre's Strat leaning against an amp. Though it was set up for slide, Trower picked the Strat up and plugged it in. After playing one chord, he exclaimed "THIS IS IT!" and he's been a Stratocaster player ever since. Now, he's teamed up with the Fender Custom Shop to craft a signature model that's sure to inspire a similar "eureka" moment for Fender fanatics everywhere.

The first thing you notice about the Robin Trower Signature Stratocaster is its striking looks. It features a big 'ol '70s-style headstock, beautiful abalone inlays, and a sharp black paint job. Once you're able to stop drooling long enough to play a few chords, you quickly realize that the secret behind this Strat's power is its versatile electronics. It has a clear, glassy-sounding '54 Custom Shop in the neck position, a rich, thick-sounding '60 Custom Shop in the middle position, and a hot, biting Texas Special in the bridge position. Having three pickups with such complementary voicings allows you to cop just about every Strat sound you'd ever need with just this one guitar!

Of course, that means nothing if it doesn't feel good in your hands, but thankfully this powerful Trower has excellent handfeel. The customized C-shaped neck profile is hefty enough to give you something to grab onto when you're making big bends, but thin enough that you don't have to work too hard to play barre chords.

Because of its versatile electronics, elegant styling, and superb handfeel, we believe that the Robin Trower Signature Stratocaster is one of the finest creations ever to come out of the Fender Custom Shop, and we are proud to showcase it for our exceptional customers.
