Gretsch G6228 Player’s Edition Jet BT
Rich Tone. Player Price
The Wildwood team believes that these new Player's Edition Jets sound so rich that they could probably get a membership to the local country club! The reason they have such a wealth of harmonic information is simple: legendary pickup designer Tim Shaw is the man behind the new Broad'Tron pickups! If you're not familiar with Tim Shaw, he redesigned Gibson's PAF humbucker while working at the Gibson Custom Shop in the eighties before he jumped ship to Fender, where he designed the Shawbuckers that reside in most American Professional guitars.
These Broad'Trons are his take on the classic Filterton sound, but with fuller frequency response across the board. The lows are deep, the highs are smooth and sweet, and the midrange is powerful and...well, broad! The select mahogany body imparts a roundness to the attack, while the hollow chambers help it sound three-dimensional and open. If it sounds like I'm describing a vintage Gretsch, it's because these guitars do capture that classic sound with exceptional accuracy while sprinkling in some modern clarity. The U-shaped neck profile is also quite comfortable, and the 12" radius lets you bend with ease!
We love these Player's Edition Jets, and we know you will, too! If you find yourself in need of full, rich, clear tone and plenty of visual mojo, these awesome Gretsches will give you inspiration for years to come!
