It's appropriate that this serial hides its 3-tone sunburst finish beneath a candy apple red facade, because this guitar contains multitudes of tones beneath its simple S-style exterior. This super-sweet Suhr has an enticing natural voice that has lots of practical applications in the studio and on stage. The basses are fat and powerful enough to evoke SRV, but the highs are bright and cutting enough to make you want to plug your Big Muff into your favorite delay and do your best David Gilmour impersonation. The bridge pickup is a classic hot PAF that conjures the sounds of British bluesmen like Peter Green, Jimmy Page, or Eric Clapton. The party continues in the middle position, which has lots of low-mid thump and upper-midrange quack and sparkle. The neck pickup has SERIOUS bass (it might make your bass player jealous, actually) and transparent highs that lend it enough clarity to still cut through a mix. Anyone looking for a Strat that can masquerade as a Les Paul in the bridge position will love this serial, and so will fans of Pink Floyd and Stevie Ray Vaughan!
