This superfly Suhr is one of the coolest takes on a "shredder guitar" that I've ever played. In general, this serial has a sweetness to the trebles that you don't typically find with high-output pickups, tight lows, and punchy, cutting midrange. In fact, it sort of sounds like a Tele Deluxe that dabbled in some dark, arcane arts. These pickups are really quite incredible--they have all the tone and warmth of an underwound humbucker, but they have enough output to send your amp into glorious creamy overdrive. In humbucker mode, the bridge pickup has powerful lows and an airy, articulate top end. In single-coil mode, it sounds somewhere between SRV and David Gilmour. The neck pickup kicks out some positively Iommi-like lows and transparent highs in 'bucker mode, and it has some beautiful fat Hendrix-y tones in single-coil mode. If you've ever wanted a shredder guitar that can out-metal everybody but still cop lots of organic, authentic classic sounds, this serial is the axe for yoU! Shred on!
