Used 1987 Santa Cruz D249R Tony Rice
Condition Report
This incredible Tony Rich model from the hallowed halls of Santa Cruz guitars is an absolute sonic titan, and it's ready to sing the Church Street Blues! It has definitely been played, but it has also obviously been cared for and loved. It shows moderate fretwear, and there are light dings and scratches throughout the finish.
On the top, there are some heavier pick marks and dings, the most noticeable of which are on the treble-side lower bout. Also, there are a few chips missing color on the sides, and there is some checking along the binding on the top, back, and sides in small spots. The tuners have tarnished quite a bit, and almost all the gold is back from the buttons. It looks like a previous owner installed a pickup but later removed it, leaving an output jack and an extension with a 1/8" connector on the other end. The neck heel also sports an aftermarket strap button.
All in all, this instrument's well-worn appearance screams vintage vibe and drips with mojo! If you're looking for a vintage acoustic with tons of character and frightening tonal power, don't miss this amazing Santa Cruz!
