Sonic Evaluation

As I was playing this gorgeous ASAT Classic Bluesboy 90, one of my coworkers walked in and sang "IT SOUNDS SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD" in a David Lee Roth voice, which really says it all, as a David Lee Roth impersonation is one of the highest honors we can bestow on a guitar at Wildwood. The magic here is in the complementary voices of the pickups.

The bridge pickup is uncommonly beefy and muscular for a Tele bridge with plenty of snarl and crunch, but it still has that signature twang and jangle. By contrast, the P-90 in the neck position sounds fatter than a prize-winning hog at the state fair with big lows and broad mids, but it still has a lovely sparkle in the high-end. The middle position is pure peanut butter and jelly, with a robust, expansive yet articulate tone. I have doubt about it handling business in just about any rock, country, or blues situation, but with the neck P-90 you can cop some nice jazz sounds, too, and the bridge pickup can dip its toes into more aggressive waters.

If you're looking for a versatile T-style guitar, this serial will probably make you spontaneously start doing ad-libs from Runnin' with the Devil just like my coworker!

Condition Report

This unbelievably gorgeous ASAT Classic Bluesboy 90 (seriously, look at that top) is in minty-fresh shape! It shows light signs of normal use, and it has no cosmetic flaws to report. It comes with its original hardshell case, too!
