If I were to power rank all things and people named Goldie, I think I might put this Collector's Choice '59 above Goldie Hawn at the number one spot! That's right--it sounds so good that it eclipses even the filmography of one of America's greatest silver screen starlets! This has a percussive attack that blooms into a full-bodied resonance, and it has a rather mean disposition. The neck pickup has warm, deep lows along with open, throaty midrange and highs that sizzle with harmonics. The bridge pickup has a focused snarl in the midrange, muscular lows, and a lovely-bell-like chime in the highs. On a scale of Tele-on-steroids Jimmy Page Les Paul tone to thick, rich Paul Kossoff tone, I'd say it lands somewhere in the middle, and this serial is proof that the middle is the perfect place to be!
