Used National Style 35 Tricone Squareneck
Sonic Evaluation
Lap steel might be one of the most evocative instruments in the world. The right slide melody can take you to the beaches of Hawaii, the deserts and steppes of Arizona, the plains of Texas, a bustling Nashville street, or any place in between. This serial has amassed some serious frequent flyer miles, because it can take you places! First and foremost, it has a profoundly vocal tone in the mids and trebles--it really cries and screams like the great lap steels on classic records. The aluminum body also gives it a hint of metallic clang gives each note a sense of rawness and harmonic complexity. It's also LOUD, with a natural reverberance that fills the room with bell-like overtones. If you're looking for a lap steel with mojo for days, this National Style 35 Tricone Squareneck will take you on a wondrous musical journey!
Condition of Instrument
This National resonator has had some surgery done, as it needed a new neck at some point in its history. The original 1936 body shows typical awesome-looking wear and tear as we expect from a guitar of this vintage, and the new neck is in fantastic shape except for a scratch/crack in the board at the 14th fret. It comes with a non-original hardshell case, which is in excellent shape.
