It was a little bit dangerous for me to play this 1959 Historic Les Paul first thing in the morning, because I could easily play it all day and get no other work done. What makes it so delightful that I could spend a full eight hours wandering its fretboard? Well, it has a wonderfully woody, articulate attack that captures all the details of the player's right-hand technique without any ugly frequency spikes. It's detailed and percussive, but it never sounds harsh. As far as resonance goes, this ES-175 is top-notch, too. The is has a warm, woody, punchy voice with open, three-dimensional highs and just the right amount of low-end presence. Anyone looking for a super-inspiring semi-hollow will love this serial!
This Historic 1959 ES-175 is in excellent shape. It shows only light signs of fret wear and play wear. The only cosmetic issue to report is that the bridge pickup has tarnished beyond what is normal for a VOS guitar. Frankly, it looks cool, and it totally adds to this guitar's vintage vibe. It comes with its original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
