Used 1995 Campellone Special Series

Holy Cow!

Wildwoodians, we couldn't think of a more appropriate header for this page, because this '95 Campellone Special simply evokes feelings of wonderment! First things first: it is an absolute marvel of workmanship and construction. Both the top and back are hand-carved and graduated solid wood, and the rims are solid, too (spruce for the top, and gorgeous maple for the back and rims). Making an archtop out of solid wood is a remarkably difficult and time-consuming techniques, but the dividends it pays to tone are more than worth it. It has unbelievable resonance and responsiveness, and it works beautifully as an acoustic instrument--I'd mic it up in the studio in a heartbeat. When you do plug in, it becomes immediately apparent that this guitar does The Archtop Thing at the highest level. It sounds simultaneously pure, warm, and woody with exceptional touch sensitivity and articulation. It's truly a joy to play, and we have no doubt it will inspire some lucky archtop aficionado to embark on all sorts of exciting fretboard adventures.

Condition Report

This Campellone special is in fantastic shape! It shows a handful of light scratches and small dings from normal use, most of which are on the pickguard. The hardware has also tarnished lightly, and the frets show very light wear. The only cosmetic flaws to note are some marks on the top from different bridge placements and a finish issue that was expertly repaired by the luthiers at Woodsongs and is no longer visible. There's also an extra non-pickup pickguard in the case that matches the truss rod cover in case you want to put this bad boy in acoustic mode. It comes with a non-original Lifton hardshell case, too!
