"Neon Drip Sparkle with Gold Flakes" is the name of the gorgeous finish on this Suhr Modern T, but I think those words fall short somehow of its psychedelic goodness! Under the hood, though, this is no flower-power pushover; no, it's a purpose-built destruction machine packed with PAF-inspired power! It has a little bit of vintage-style woody twang to the attack before the note blooms to full resonance, and it has a M A S S I V E overtone presence. Each note practically drips with lush, rich harmonic content!

This serial's bass response is deep enough to make hitting the low E string profoundly satisfying but well-mannered enough to avoid stepping in the mud. The bridge pickup is fat enough to be the envy of most neck pickups, with a hulk-sized punch in the mids and a sparkling, open high-end. The neck pickup has an unbelievably powerful, broad midrange response with a sweet high-end and juicy, thick low-end. In all positions, this guitar has an uncommon richness and depth, which, in technical terms, made me feel extremely cool when I played it.
