Used Vintage 1955 Gibson Les Paul Junior
A Junior Becomes the Master
Wildwoodians, few things get us more excited than a great vintage Les Paul Junior, and this serial from 1955 practically made me jump for joy! We've long posited that all you really need in life is one P-90 in the bridge position, and this serial is proof of our hypothesis. It's touch-sensitive, dynamic, and it has the perfect blend of sparkle, bite, and punch. It twangs and jangles sweetly through a clean amp and roars like an eldritch demon through a dirty amp--what more could you want? Anybody seeking a raw, mean, lean vintage machine owes it to themselves to check this serial out, although be warned: it may singe your eyebrows off with its facemelting tone!
Condition Report
This '55 Junior is in fabulous shape, too! It shows typical vintage wear, and it has a metric ton of mojo as a result. It appears to be all original except for the tuners, which are modern replicas of the originals and did not require any drilling. The original frets are in fantastic shape and show light wear--a rarity on guitars this old. The only real imperfection to note is a pair of cracks in the top by the treble-side bridge post, which have been repaired quite sturdily with a metal L bracket in the bridge cavity. It comes with a non-original Gibson USA hardshell case, too!
