You're unlikely to remain solo while playing this Schoenberg Soloist, because its sweet, rich tone is guaranteed to draw a crowd! It produces a stunning bouquet of beautiful, complex overtones, making even simple open chords sound lusher than a rainforest in the Amazon--appropriate given the Brazilian rosewood back and sides!

Brazilian rosewood is often described as "piano-like" but that doesn't really do this serial's cavernous, warm bass response or its sparkling trebles justice. We also love Engelmann spruce for its softer, more nuanced personality, as it boosts overtone presence, too. Despite how much this guitar has going on, it maintains superb string separation and balance even when you play fancy, complex chords. Lemme tell ya, a Dmaj7sus2 with the third in the bass sounds nice on this instrument.

Lead lines also sound glorious thanks to the aforementioned richness, which lends single notes an uncommon sense of three-dimensionality and weight. Sustain-wise, you might get bored waiting for a chord to stop ringing (I know I did!). The attack also has that signature Brazilian rosewood percussiveness before whooshing into room-filling resonance.

This '89 Schoenberg Soloist has a pretty cool story: it was voiced by the legendary luthier Dana Bourgeois and assembled by our friends at Martin. With such an incredible pedigree, it's no surprise that it sounds positively heavenly! It's also in marvelous shape. It shows some light signs of use and some very light fretwear, but it has no major cosmetic flaws to report. It comes with its original hardshell case, too!
