Reverend Pete Anderson Eastsider S
Overview Video
A Master's Tool
Pete Anderson is a great many things: a Grammy winner, a session player, a musical director to Dwight Yoakam, a producer, a songwriter, and an arranger. But, above all else, he is a master of all things six-string. Masters need versatile tools to ply their trade, and thus we have the Eastsider S, a Swiss Army Knife of a guitar with tons of useful sounds hiding in its chambered korina body.Speaking of which, that chambered body is the building block of this guitar. Korina is a warm yet lively wood with strong midrange presence. Chambering it gives it a little bit of acoustic-like touch sensitivity, and it also imparts a bit of extra sweetness to the sound.
Within this body there lies three single-coil pickups: two S-style in the neck and middle positions, and a T-style in the bridge. You can also use the "studio switch" in the push-pull tone pot to add the neck pickup in with any position. This pickup configuration allows you to grab a whole host of sweet sounds. Everything from Nashville twang, indie jangle, classic rock snarl, Hendrixian goodness, and quack-y funk tone is at your fingertips. However, because of the T-style pickup in the bridge position, it still sounds unique (in particular, position four has MUCH more oomph than normal--it's the beefiest quack you've ever heard!).
Easy Like Sunday Morning
As with all Reverends, the Eastsider T comes with a variety of appointments that make it a reliable, easy-to-play instrument. The medium oval neck profile is home to a fingerboard with a compound 10"-14" radius, which makes chording easy low on the neck and makes bigs bends as easy as can be up on the higher frets. For improved tuning stability, there are pin-lock tuners and a boneite nut. The neck heel has six bolts for greater rigidity and resonance, and it is also angled to make the high frets easy to access. Add in boutique-quality pots, caps, and jacks, and you've got a reliable machine that plays like a dream! We're proud to showcase the Pete Anderson Eastsider S, a guitar that provides a host of inspiring tones worthy of one of music's greatest sidemen. We know it will inspire you as much as it inspires us!
