Sonic Evaluation
Martin's 0000-28 exists in the Goldilocks Zone between a dreadnought and an auditorium, and boy, is that a sweet place to be! This serial in particular exemplifies the 0000's many charms and powers beautifully. It has powerful but sculpted bass response, a rich midrange punch, and gorgeous sparkling highs. Also, it has the perfect amount of sag in the attack (which is quite articulate) before whooshing into a room-filling resonance. On a spectrum from woody to rich, it definitely leans towards the rich side of the equation, as it is resplendent with warm overtones. Despite its lush, full-bodied voice, it also has excellent string separation and clarity.
