Martin Guitars Standard Series SC-18E
A Bold New Beginning
Martin Guitars has a well-deserved reputation for making some of the greatest traditional acoustic guitars in the world. But, they are also home to some of the most brilliant minds in the acoustic guitar world, and they aren't afraid to evolve the acoustic with bold, innovative new designs. The new SC-18E is perhaps one of the coolest acoustic guitar designs we've ever seen, and it carries the DNA of the traditional Martin sound while introducing a host of features that will appeal to discerning modern players.
It has a 13-fret neck, which gives it an excellent blend of overtone complexity and punchy fundamental while reducing string tension. Said 13-fret neck has a new shape--called the Low Profile Velocity--and it plays like Crisco-coated lightning. You may notice from the photos that there is also no neck heel, which allows for unprecedented upper-fret access. Finally, it has an offset body that improves ergonomics and looks super cool! Ultimately, sitting down with one of these SC-18Es feels like slipping into your comfiest pair of sweatpants!
Monster Martin Tone
As comfortable as the SC-18E is to play, it sounds even better. It bears the classic hallmarks of Style 18 Martin tone: a powerful, punchy midrange, an open high-end, and warm, beefy lows. However, it sounds a bit more sculpted and modern--as if a producer applied a bunch of audio engineering tricks right there in the room! It sounds sculpted to fit into a mix, but it also has the richness and dynamic range necessary for solo performance or accompaniment. Also, its medium body size allows it to excel as both a strummer and a fingerstyle guitar. To top it off, it comes decked out in 18 Style cosmetic appointments, so its guaranteed to turn heads!
We're proud to present the SC-18E, and we have no doubt it will inspire you to embark on all sorts of exciting acoustic adventures!
