Martin Guitars D-16E
Sweet Sixteen
The Martin D-16E is one Martin's most interesting and inspiring models thanks to its classic tonewoods and uber-comfy body shape! You see, the D-16 is a dreadnought with the body depth of a 000-sized guitar. As anyone who has played a big 'ol dreadnought for a three-hour gig can attest, the wide body on a dreadnought can lead to a fair amount of fatigue. The D-16E's narrower body allows for a more comfortable playing experience so you can pick late into the night.
While it maintains the punching power, fullness and depth we expect from a great Martin dread, the D-16E does also have a slightly more articulate, focused sound due to its smaller size. And, its Fishman Matrix VT Enhance electronic system amplifies the classic tone of its spruce top and mahogany back and sides to give you a powerful live performance experience. All in all, the D-16E presents a delightful new spin on the Martin dreadnought, and we have no doubt it will inspire you to wander its fretboard over the course of many, many acoustic adventures.
