James Tyler Studio Elite HD
Sonic Evaluation
When I was tuning this Alien Guano masterpiece from James Tyler up, I turned and said "I KNOW this one is gonna be good already" before I had even plugged it in, and I was right just like I always am. Its powerful acoustic resonance translated to humongous amplified tone that prompted me to play at a socially unacceptable volume. The bridge pickup has powerful but well-mannered lows, snarling mids, and sweet, singing trebles, and it's uber-articulate. The single-coils have a similar response to a vintage Strat pickup, but with more body and power. The neck position is throaty and full, and the middle pickup is is right in the middle between focused and fat. All positions have a tremendously rich, lush overtone presence. If you're looking for a big, rich-sounding yet articulate HSS guitar, this serial is the ticket!
