Used 2023 Gibson Acoustic Custom Shop J-45 Custom
An Acoustic Black Beauty
Wildwoodians, the J-45 and the Les Paul Custom are two of the most iconic guitar designs of all time, but what if a mad scientist combined them? Well, the answer is not hypothetical anymore! The J-45 Custom from the Gibson acoustic Custom Shop pairs the versatile classic tone of the J-45 with the styling of a Les Paul Custom, and it's cooler than John Coltrane practicing the Lydian scale while eating an ice cream cone in an igloo (and that's pretty cool!).
A Custom Shop Creation
First things first: the J-45 Custom showcases the outstanding build quality, fit, and finish that are the hallmark of the skilled craftspeople at Gibson's acoustic Custom Shop. To play a J-45 Custom is to experience the joy of a Gibson acoustic guitar built by hand with time-consuming old-world methods, and it is a truly glorious one-of-a-kind acoustic fun time.
The J-45 Custom features the same beguiling tone formula that has formed the backbone of countless classic recordings: a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a 24.75" scale neck. Spruce and mahogany give this guitar a warm-yet-clear balanced voice with plenty of woody midrange, top-end shimmer, and punchy bass, and the scale length gives it more touch sensitivity and a more percussive, articulate attack (not to mention, the lesser string tension gives the neck a delightfully slinky handfeel!).
Style for Miles
If the J-45 Custom's tone is classic, its style is bold and exciting. It's murdered-out with a nitrocellulose lacquer ebony finish that looks both imposing and elegant, and it also has lots of neat nods to the Les Paul Custom. For instance, it has a stately bound ebony fretboard with block inlays, Midas-kissed Rotomatic tuners, a bound peghead with a regal split mother-of-pearl diamond inlay, and multi-ply binding on the body. To top it off, it comes equipped with a killer-sounding LR Baggs Session VTC pickup system, so it's ready to rock the stage!
We're proud to present the J-45 Custom, and we have no doubt this acoustic black beauty will transfix you!
Condition Report
This J-45 Custom is in fantastic shape! It shows light signs of normal use, and the only cosmetic imperfections to report are some dings on the back by the treble-side lower bout. The frets look excellent, too. It comes with its original hardshell case.
