Rickenbacker 360/12 Circa 1963
She's Got a Ticket to Chime
For some reason, twelve-string Rickenbackers have a sound that captures our collective imagination. Something about their chiming, bell-like high-end sustain and their jangly attack seems to grab listeners by their eardrums and touch their hearts, and one could easily argue that Tom Petty and the Beatles have that inimitable Rickenbacker timbre to thank for several of their biggest hits. Regardless, there is no twelve-string more iconic than the Rickenbacker 36012, and this Circa 1963 version is a scarily accurate reproduction of the Rick George Harrison played on Beatles classics like "Ticket to Ride" and "A Hard Day's Night."
Two vintage-style "Toaster" pickups provide plenty of vintage Rickenbacker jangle, and the 7.25" radius makes it easy as pie to fly up and down the neck playing all sorts of Roger McGuinn-esque inversions. It sounds and plays just like a vintage Rick, and it looks like it, too, thanks to details like the double-bound body, the trapeze tailpiece, and the traditional Rickenbacker 12-string headstock. All of this adds up to one of the coolest, most inspiring twelve-strings we've ever been lucky enough to showcase, and we hope they resonate with you as much as they resonate with us!
