Gibson Slash Les Paul Standard
Overview Video
Use Your Illusion
Grammys are nice, and platinum records are cool, but the true measure of a musician's success is whether or not they are identifiable by one word. Wildwood's favorite member of the one-word name club is undoubtedly Slash, the incendiary lead guitarist for legendary rock icons Guns 'n' Roses. His solos on legendary tracks like November Rain, Welcome to the Jungle, and Paradise City reached the stratosphere of rock shredulation and exposed countless impressionable young minds (this writer included) to the transformative powers of rock guitar.
Slash has a long and storied history of collaboration with Gibson Guitars, and together they have released over a dozen Slash Signature models. Now, our friends at Gibson have honored Slash by giving him his very own line of guitars called The Slash Collection. These guitars capture the essence of Slash's swagger and style, and they are absolute sonic titans.
Since Slash is perhaps the greatest Les Paul-slinging icon of the modern era, Gibson really pulled out all the stops for the Slash Les Paul Standard. Each of these guitars sports a sweet finish Slash-approved finish over a gorgeous AAA flamed maple top and an uber-comfy '50s Vintage neck profile. As a result, these guitars play beautifully, and they have jaw-dropping, drool-inducing looks.
However, the new Custom Burstbucker Alnico II Humbuckers pickups are perhaps the most exciting part of these guitars because they nail his sound so well. It's all there: the snarl and chime of the bridge pickup, the thickness and richness of the neck pickup, and the sweet, singing quality that made his tone so iconic.
We're proud to showcase the Slash Les Paul Standard. It's a fitting tribute to Slash's growing legacy as a guitar hero, and we have no doubt it will carry you off to the paradise city after one strum.
