The J-45 Custom features the same beguiling tone formula that has formed the backbone of countless classic recordings: a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a 24.75" scale neck. Spruce and mahogany give this guitar a warm-yet-clear balanced voice with plenty of woody midrange, top-end shimmer, and punchy bass, and the scale length gives it more touch sensitivity and a more percussive, articulate attack (not to mention, the lesser string tension gives the neck a delightfully slinky handfeel!).

It's murdered-out with a nitrocellulose lacquer ebony finish that looks both imposing and elegant, and it also has lots of neat nods to the Les Paul Custom.
