The Pinnacle of PRS Design.
The PRS Custom 24 is an iconic staple of the Paul Reed Smith lineup for numerous reasons. Ever since it was originally introduced at the 1985 Winter NAMM show, its signature silhouette has captivated the hearts and imaginations of guitar players all over the world. Pairing a premium mahogany body with a curly maple top, immaculate PRS build quality, and a five-way switch for maximum versatility, the Custom 24 delivers in spades as jack of all trades! It can handle everything from sparkling single coil tones all the way to aggressive, modern high-gain sounds with ease. The Custom 24's flawless construction, unparalleled elegance and stunning looks have cemented its status as a modern classic, and we are proud to present it to our exceptional customers.
Tonal Evaluation
This Vintage Yellow Custom 24 is an absolute delight! Like a lot of my favorite vintage double-cut guitars, this serial has a meaty, warm midrange and a sparkling, touch-sensitive high-end. The bridge position has the archetypical rock humbucker tone--punchy, articulate, and full of even-order harmonics--and the neck position is fat as can be without sounding mushy. Positions 2 and 4 are quite inspiring, too! They offer some really snappy, quacky tones that are lovely for Hendrixian rock and spanky country. Anyone seeking a full-sounding PRS to create powerful rock and roll music will love this serial!
