A Tribute to An All-Time Favorite

Wildwood Guitars has had a long, illustrious relationship with both Paul Reed Smith and Dave Grissom, who has long been a hero to the Wildwood Staff. When Paul Reed Smith offered Wildwood Guitars the chance to raid his sacred Wood Library, we knew we had an opportunity to do something incredibly special. The Wildwood Staff has always been captivated by the incredible craftsmanship, gorgeous finishes and unparalleled consistency in Paul's works of art, but the idea of getting to hand select our tone woods to create instruments that were not only visually stunning, but tonally breathtaking as well, was just too exciting to pass up. Additionally, we knew it was time to simultaneously pay tribute to both one of our favorite artists, and one of our favorite models in the PRS lineup: The DGT.

We flew out to Stevensville, Maryland where we were graciously allowed access to the Wood Library, spending hours hand selecting the most incredible tone woods for our very own Wood Library run. Every detail mattered, from the density of the necks to the specific weight of the mahogany backs. Paul was gracious enough to allow us to hand select every piece of each instrument with tone being the priority, first and foremost.

We took the already outstanding platform of the DGT and elaborated on the wonderful groundwork created by Paul Reed Smith and Dave Grissom, himself. We took extreme care in selecting the finest quilted maple tops and exceptional Brazilian rosewood for both both the fretboard and headstock veneer. The result is a visually stunning presentation to compliment the incredible tonal characteristics of the DGT pickup set, along with classic mahogany and maple wood chemistry.
