Used 2023 Castedosa Guitars Marianna Carve-Top
Sonic Evaluation
When I first sat down to tune this Castedosa up, the guitar practically started vibrating when I hit the low E string, and I said to myself "This is gonna be an awesome morning." I was right, because that unamplified resonance translated to A S T O U N D I N G tone once I fired up my amp. After just a couple of minutes' worth of playing, I knew this serials was going to be one of those guitars that lingers in my head and haunts my dreams for years. Basically, it just sounds BIG, and it's dripping with sparkling harmonic overtones, but that richness never leads to muddiness or tubbiness even when you play complex chords with lots of gain. The chambered mahogany body gives it extra airiness and lush natural reverberance, but it also imparts a bit of acoustic-like touch-sensitivity. Guitars that sound this massive AND are this dynamic and expressive are quite rare and special!
Each individual pickup deserves a Shakespearean sonnet to describe its greatness, but my iambic pentameter skills are rusty so prose will have to do. I don't know what kind of alchemy goes into the Castedosa humbuckers, but they have the brightness, clarity, and sparkle of single-coils while retaining the beef and muscle of a great humbucker. The bridge pickup has a beautiful blend of crunch and punch with excellent presence, and the neck pickup has a broader response in the midrange and lows with sunny highs. Let's not forget the single-coil in the middle position, though, as it sounds lovely. It brings all the clang, twang, and jangle you'll ever need.
All in all, this Castedosa is a world-beater of a guitar that would be well-suited to just about any musical pursuit. If you're looking for an HH T-style guitar, this Marianna will blow you mind!
