Wildwood Guitars is honored to present the pinnacle of vintage-correct detail: the Gibson Custom Shop’s True Historic Series. For years, the Custom Shop has gone to painstaking lengths to improve upon their wonderful Historic reissues, and every time they get closer and closer to capturing the feel and sound of an old guitar. They’ve upped the ante yet again by studying the materials, manufacturing techniques and specifications of original vintage instruments and replicating their finest details and nuances with unparalleled care and precision. The amount of work that goes into these guitars is borderline obsessive. They’ve composed new plastics just to make the switch tips and pickup rings look more accurate, and they double-carve each neck and each body before putting it all together with real hide glue. But the eye for detail doesn’t stop there! After assembly, each guitar is wet-sanded by hand, and then they all go through an extensive setup process to make sure that each one feels as authentic as it looks and sounds. Make no mistake: these instruments represent the beginning of a second “golden era” of guitar-making. Due to the time-intensive old-world manufacturing processes, True Historic models are extremely limited in production, so be sure to check back frequently for the latest available inventory here at Wildwood Guitars.
