Used 2015 Gibson Memphis Limited Edition Wildwood Spec ES-330 – VOS
Sonic Evaluation
Wildwood Spec ES-330s are rare birds these days, and this example is as majestic as an eagle flying high above a mountain while Vangelis's "Chariots of Fire" plays. It represents everything I love about the 330: its woody warmth, hi-fidelity clarity, acoustic-like touch-sensitivity, sparkling high-end, punchy mids, and clear, deep low-end. This serial can really snarl when you dig in, but it sounds righteously smooth and sweet when you ease off. That level of dynamic control makes for a wonderfully expressive playing experience, and it led me to have several "whoah, did I play that?" moments, which is a sure sign of an inspirational instrument.
The bridge pickup is glorious, with plenty of bite and sparkle and growly low-end. The neck pickup has surprising deep, dry bass response, a broad midrange response, and glassy trebles. Both worked great for rhythm and lead! If you're looking for an ES-330, this Wildwood Spec beauty will inspire you endlessly and bring you all sorts of musical joy.
Condition Report
This ES-330 of the Wildwood Spec variety is in superb shape! It shows light signs of use throughout the finish and very light fretwear. There are just a few small cosmetic imperfections to report: some scratches on the headstock face, depression from a clip-on tuner on the back of the headstock, some checking at the fret ends, and a repaired top crack in the tailpiece area. It has been given a clean bill of health by our techs and is fully structurally sound, so it's ready to rock. It comes with its original hardshell case, too!
