Fender Custom Shop Limited Lexus LC Stratocaster – NOS
Pure Luxury
Wildwoodians, few things in life are more luxurious than driving a Lexus, so why wouldn't you want to marry that experience with the glory of playing a Custom Shop Fender? That's the question the folks at Fender asked, and that's what led to this guitar: the Lexus LC Stratocaster. Though this guitar is a delight to play and it sounds fantastic, we have to talk about the color first. You can read more about the technical aspects of it here, but Structural Blue is actually a highly technologically advanced method of recreating the color of the Morpho butterfly. The Morpho's wings are actually colorless, but because of (according to Lexus) "light interference on their microscopic lattice surface structure," they appear to be bluer than the bluest blue of all time. Lexus figured out how to replicate that in a car finish through a process so laborious that their factory can only produce two Structural Blue vehicles a day!
So, why put it on a guitar? Because it's cool, and you don't need any more justification than that! Speaking of which, there is an absolute monster hiding under that paint job. Fender's Ultra Noiseless Vintage single-coils are as smooth and noise-free as a ride in a Lexus, and their modern spin on vintage tone adds more clarity and articulation to the classic vintage-style Strat voice. The neck also plays as fast as a luxury vehicle, too, thanks to its modern C profile, 12" radius, and medium jumbo frets, a configuration that will allow you to shred in comfort (it also has AAA flamed maple--all luxury here!).
Beyond that, there are cool cosmetic touches like the pickguard and Lexus radio dial-inspired knobs for a total package that feels, looks, and sounds as good as the cars that inspired it. We're proud to showcase this killer Lexus, and we'll see you out on the roads, Wildwoodians!
