Sonic Evaluation

When I was tuning this Spector up, I felt like a fisherman trying to hold on to an enormous fish, because it was so resonant that it felt like it was trying to jump out of my hands! Even played acoustically, this bass sounds inspiring, so much so that I immediately wrote a nasty bass line within thirty seconds of picking it up. Instruments that immediately inspire creativity are rare and special indeed, and that only becomes more apparent when you plug it in. It sounds rich and full like a piano, with just the right balance of overtones and punchy fundamental.

However, the magic really starts when you start to fiddle with the active EQ. I was able to get just about every sound with ease: bright modern pop, thunderous classic rock, dubby rumble, snappy funk, woody thump, you name it! Though it sounds amazing with everything set evenly, it's also pretty fun to explore new sonic territory, and it's supremely versatile.
