Wildwoodians, walk this way! We HAVE to show you this gorgeous Custom Shop Joe Perry 1959 Les Paul Standard! It's a near-exact replication of one of the most famous bursts of all time, serial 90663. The original had several notable owners, including Eric Johnson, Boston-area legend Billy Loosigian, and most famously Slash. The story goes that Joe Perry sold it to Slash when he was broke and down-and-out. Years later, Slash surprised Joe Perry at his birthday party with his old guitar! It makes you feel some type of sweet emotion thinking about that moment, and this painstaking recreation will make you feel the same way.

To make it as close to the original as possible, Gibson enlisted the maestro himself, Tom Murphy, to age each guitar and mimic the natural wear patterns that developed on Joe's guitar over years of touring the world. The folks at Gibson also matched the tobacco hue of the original's burst perfectly, and the finish highlights the subtle, elegant grain and mineral streaking patterns on the maple top. And it roars like an angry, hungry dragon thanks to its AlNiCo III Custombucker pickups, which deliver oodles of vintage PAF flavor and expressiveness. They even matched the neck profile to Joe's guitar so it feels just like the original, which is to say it delivers a glorious, inspiring playing experience.
