Used 1991 Rickenbacker 355JL John Lennon Limited Edition
Ticket to ChimeWildwoodians, we've got your ticket to chime right here: a 1991 Rickenbacker 355JL John Lennon. Limited to only 2000 pieces, this run of Rickys were a tribute to John Lennon's original 325, but with a twist. Unlike Lennon's three-quarter-scale original, the 355JL has a 24.75" scale length to accommodate players more used to traditional long-scale instruments. As a result, it is highly comfortable to play!
Sonically, it's an absolute joy. The three vintage toaster pickups in this bad boy nail the classic Rickenbacker chime and jangle. Close your eyes and crank up your amp and you might feel like you've been transported to a small club in Hamburg in 1962. This guitar may be a bit of a collector's item, but don't get it twisted: it's awfully difficult to put down.
The aesthetic details are all there, too. In fact, Rickenbacker busted out some original tooling to make sure the nameplate, pickguard, and headstock were all as accurate as can be.
All in all, this 355JL is glorious example of Rickenbacker style and tone, and once you harness its power, we have no doubt chime will be on your side.
Condition of InstrumentThis beautiful '91 Ricky 355JL is in fantastic shape. It has some finish imperfections and some scratches on the neck, but it has very few cosmetic flaws overall.
