It may seem like a contradiction, but this amazing 50th Anniversary '59 Les Paul manages to sound a little prettier AND a little meaner than your average Lester! Apart from it being awesome, the Bigsby tailpiece imparts a little extra chime to the tone while also making the attack growlier. That snarl lives beneath a cloud of lush, sweet chiming overtones. So, basically, this serial is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at the same time! The bridge pickup is vicious and punchy, but that sparkle gives it a wonderful jangly quality, too. The neck pickup is beefier than the state of Nebraska and richer than Bill Gates, and the middle position is throaty and quack-y. Though it's a familiar-looking guitar, this serial puts a fresh, inspiring spin on a classic tone, and we have no doubt it will inspire you endlessly.

Wildwoodians, there are few things we love more than a world-class Les Paul, and this spectacular limited-edition 50th Anniversary '59 reissue from 2009 presents a veritable cornucopia of sonic and aesthetic delights. Inspired by the guitar on page thirty-eight of the book The Beauty of the Burst, only twenty-five of these Bigsby-equipped beasts were ever produced, making it one of the more exquisite LPs we've ever had the privilege of showcasing. Speaking of exquisite, this finish is a gorgeous spin on a classic Cherry Burst with a bit more yellow and gold to give it a regal, dignified look. And if Helen of Troy's face launched a thousand ships, this top could launch a thousand streams of drool! We're proud to showcase this highly-limited Lester, and we have no doubt it will bring all kinds of musical joy to some lucky Gibson aficionado.

Condition Report

This '59 reissue is in gorgeous shape, and it shows virtually no signs of use except for some cracked knobs, which are pretty common. It comes with its original hardshell case, a certificate of authenticity, and its hangtags.
