A Fly '55

Wildwoodians, is prototype number two from a run of Custom Shop 1955 Les Pauls Standard. Basically, it's a sunburst Les Paul with a wraparound tailpiece meant to evoke an early fifties P-90-equipped goldtop that a player refinished to sunburst in order to emulate a '59, which gives it a sweet vintage-mod vibe. But, this prototype isn't just a piece of Gibson Custom history: it's a sonic sledgehammer!

Here at Wildwood, we believe that all you need is love, and by "love" we mean "Gibson Custom Shop P-90s." They're truly wonderful: rich in overtones with plenty of articulation, snarl, bite and chime. They also display outstanding touch-sensitivity, making for a wonderfully expressive playing experience. The wraparound tailpiece also maximizes resonance and sustain, making for a remarkably powerful take on the Les Paul P-90 sound. Condition Report

This prototype LP is in fantastic shape, and it shows virtually no signs of use other than a small ding on the tip of the cutaway horn. Other than that, it has no cosmetic flaws to report. It comes with its original hardshell case (which has its original hardware and pickguard tucked inside), original hangtags, and a certificate of authenticity.
