Roundhouse of the Rising Sun

The Reverend Roundhouse has set Wildwood Guitars alight with excitement ever since its arrival, because we haven't seen a Reverend with a carved top in forever! With a transparent finish that highlights the stunning grain of the flamed maple top, this guitar is a stone-cold stunner in the looks department. It's also an absolute sonic titan, and it is incredibly versatile. Let's take a close look and see what makes the Roundhouse so inspiring!

By matching the Roundhouse's korina body to the aforementioned maple top, the fine folks at Reverend have put a fresh spin on a classic tonewood combination. Korina shares many sonic characteristics with mahogany (it's warm, punchy, well-balanced, and even), but it's livelier and it has more overtone presence in the highs. Maple, on the other hand, tends to impart brightness, cut, and clarity when used for an electric guitar top. So, the Roundhouse sounds similar to the classic single-cut maple-topped guitars of yore, but with a bit of extra sparkle and a slightly sunnier attitude.

Speaking of classic sounds, let's talk about the Reverend Alnico 5 humbucker sitting atop that lovely cut of maple. They nail the two iconic archetypical single-cut sounds. With the bass contour on full, they nail the big, rich, thick sound that was a hallmark of many jean-jacketed seventies rockers and blues masters like Clapton while maintaining modern articulation and clarity. When you roll off the bass contour, you get the "Tele-On-Steroids" sound that guys like Jimmy Page favored: woody, snappy, and articulate, but with plenty of mass and depth. With these two spectacular tones at your disposal, you can easily shape your sound to suit a wide variety of musical situations!

Power to the Player

Reverend has kitted out the Roundhouse with a metric ton of appointments that enhance the player's experience and while making the instrument supremely reliable. The medium oval neck profile is home to 22 medium-jumbo frets and a fingerboard with a 12" radius, a configuration well-suited to most techniques and playing styles (and, it's especially good for bending strings). Also, it has pin-lock tuners and a Boneite nut to ensure excellent tuning stability, and it comes equipped with boutique-quality pots and caps and a Pure Tone jack for consistent sound.

Burning Down the 'House

We're proud to showcase Reverend's first carved-top guitar in some time! Drool-inducing looks aside, the Roundhouse is a sonic titan that allows you to cop some awesome iconic tones mixed with some modern flair. It feels classic and fresh at the same time, and we know it will inspire you to embark on all sorts of musical adventures!
