Sonic Evaluation

I was maybe having a little too much fun playing this Dunable Minotaur, because after I got done playing it far too loudly for anyone to accomplish any work, then let a sustained chord ring out for way too long, my coworker Greg walked by my office and said "Slow down there, Hüsker Dön't." Whatever. You can drive-by roast me all you want using the names of eighties hardcore bands, and I won't care as long as I have this thing in my hands, and I Hüsker Will keep playing it loudly on my lunch breaks, because I'd say it approaches double-humbucker perfection.

Before we get into the pickups, I do have to mention its impressive acoustic resonance. It's open, loud and three-dimensional, and you can hear its personality with no electricity involved. Through an amp, the magic comes from the way the pickups complement one another. The bridge pickup is pure rock and roll brutality, with a beautiful snarl in the midrange, wonderfully open, sparkly highs, and muscular low-end that practically forces your facial muscles to contract into a stank face when you hit the low E. Through a crunchy amp, it's rhythm guitar nirvana, and it works beautifully for stinging, sizzling leads, too.

By contrast, the neck pickup is thick, warm, and righteously smooth. The midrange is broad and vocal, the lows are deep and woody, and the highs are glassy and sweet. In the middle position, they go together like macaroni and cheese, and they fill the entire sonic spectrum for a massive sound capable of leveling skyscrapers and felling ancient eldritch beasts.

I will likely scream, cry, and/or throw up when this Dunable finds its forever home and I have to watch it leave on the truck. If you're looking for a beautiful double-hum guitar with style for miles and tone for days, I think you'll love it as much as I do!

Condition Report

This beautiful Dunable Minotaur is in fantastic shape! The frets have virtually no wear, and they measure .098 inches by .052 inches. The finish shows extremely light signs of normal use, and the only minor cosmetic imperfections are a handful of check marks in the binding at the frets ends and some light-to-moderate hardware tarnishing, which is most noticeable on the pickups. It comes with its original hardshell case, too!
