Inspired by Gibson's top-of-the-line square-shoulder dreadnoughts of the sixties, the Dove Original is packed with opulent cosmetic appointments, and it has an inspiring voice that stands out in a crowd. Its spruce top and flamed maple back and sides give it a clear, crisp sound with tight lows, woody midrange, and sweet, sunny top-end chime. Also, its maple body helps give it exceptional note separation, string-to-string balance, and clarity. Furthermore, its 25.5-inch scale-length--longer than the typical 24.75-inch scale of most Gibsons--gives it a snappy, percussive, articulate attack.

Because of these qualities, the Dove works beautifully in a variety of applications. Its sculpted voice allows it to sit in a mix beautifully on stage and in the studio, and its bright top-end cuts through without stepping on other instrument's toes. If you really dig in, the Dove has a pleasantly aggressive voice, making it an excellent choice for rock strummers and pickers. But, its transparent voice also reflects the personality of the player, so it captures all the subtleties of more nuanced performances.
