Sonic Evaluation

Wildwoodians, don't that that purty maple cap on this Tom Anderson Cobra S fool you: it's one of the meanest, mistreating-est guitars in our shop right. As always, I played it unplugged, and it sounded so resonant and delectable that I sat there jamming sans amp for a good long while. Acoustically, you can hear a huge low-end, a rich midrange, and an open top-end, and all of those things came through beautifully when I plugged into my trust Hot Rod Deluxe.

However, I was still unprepared for the sonic carnage that ensued. This guitar has a growl and a grunt worthy of an eldritch beast the size of a skyscraper from another dimension. The lows are enormous as Godzilla's footprints, and the midrange packs a Kong-sized punch. The trebles sizzle and sparkle, resplendent with sweet overtones. In fact, this guitar is practically dripping with overtones across the board, mostly of the even-order variety, so they play nice together. The bridge pickup is pure Leslie West-esque power (IF YOU KNOOOOOOHOOOW WHAT I MEAN), the middle pickup is warm yet muscular like a bodybuilder with kind eyes, and the neck pickup is enormous sounding but with enough treble response to cut through and remain oh-so-clear.

And the in-between positions? They sound like a Stratocaster that survived Weapon X testing! Yep, they're the Strat equivalent of Wolverine from X-Men. Still quacky and vocal, but with adamantium claws and skeleton.

All in all, this Tom Anderson Cobra S is one of the coolest guitars in our shop! If you have even a passign interest in pugilistic P-90 tone, you'll love it as much as I do!

Condition Report

This P-90-licious Tom Anderson is in awesome shape! The frets show virtually no wear and look fantastic, and the finish shows extremely light signs of normal use. Other than some spots where normal use has glossed the satin finish on the neck, there are no cosmetic flaws to report, and it comes with its original hardshell case.
