It's shockingly resonant acoustically, and it roars once you plug in. The bridge pickup has that beautiful bell-like chime and jangle RIckenbackers are renowned for, and the neck pickup is surprisingly warm and full, with a woody, almost acoustic-like quality. They complement one another beautifully in the middle position, cover the whole frequency spectrum for a robust, full-bodied tone.
If you're looking for a fun vintage short-scale guitar, this Rickenbacker 950 is the equivalent of a little red (or perhaps Fireglo!) Corvette!
This Rickenbacker 950 is one of the cleanest vintage Ricks we've ever seen! The frets show very light wear, and the finish shows light signs of normal use. For its age, it's remarkably clean, with just a handful of dings and scratches. The finish has developed a beautiful natural VOS look over the years, too. The hardware has tarnished moderately, but there aren't any real cosmetic flaws to report apart from typical vintage bumps and bruises. Everything looks original, but the tone pots are wired in reverse--kind of a cool little quirk! It comes with its original hardshell case, too.
