When this Novo Miris H2 eventually finds its forever home, there is a near 100% probability that one of our neighbors will call the police out of concern for me, as my weeping and wailing will no doubt travel through walls. I LOVE this guitar! First things first: this guitar is unbelievably acoustically resonant. It's louder than some laminate-bodied acoustics, and that means massive tone when you do plug in. Tonally, the best comparison I can make is a great vintage SG, but with more airiness, openness, sparkle, and clarity. It has that gut-punch crunch in spades, but it also has a wonderful bouquet of overtones that come together to create a lush, three-dimensional sound. Though it sounds as rich as Scrooge McDuck, it also has superb note separation, allowing you to play six-string chords with lots of gain in the neck position and hear each note clearly. The attack also captures the percussive detail of your pick strike while simultaneously rounding off any harsh edges or spiky frequencies. The attack also has a bit of vintage-style sag, meaning that after the pick strike, the note "blooms" forth in a musical, inspiring way. The bridge pickup is about as good as it gets. As Wildwood's resident bridge pickup enthusiast, I keep a ranking of best bridge pickup tones in each category (Filter'tron, P-90, humbucker, etc.) in my head, and this one is near the top of the humbucker heap. It's punchy, snarly, open, and has tons of sparkle to balance out the muscular low-end. As much fun as I had running wild in the bridge position, I found myself in the neck just as much. It has this wonderfully rich yet clear sound that makes lead lines sound as fat and juicy as a hog roasting over an open fire and rhythm parts feel Godzilla-sized. All position have a wide dynamic range and exceptional touch-sensitivity. If you're looking for a lightweight dual-hum thinline guitar with tons of vibe, you'll get as attached to this Novo as I did!
This Novo Miris H2 is in minty-fresh shape! It looks almost new, and apart from a few faint pick marks on the pickguard, it has no cosmetic imperfections to report. It comes with its original deluxe Novo gig bag, too!
