I was expecting a goodly amount of low-end from this Larrivee (after all, it's a rosewood-bodied jumbo!) but I was shocked when I played the first couple chords, because it exceeded my sky-high expectations. This serial has wonderfully deep, warm, rich bass response perfectly balanced by a beautifully complex sparkling high-end replete with twinkling overtones. Its symphony of overtones blend beautifully, so it never sounds muddy or tubby even when you play loud, full chords. It also exceeds expectations in the headroom and volume departments, and has more midrange than you'd expect from a rosewood guitar. The attack has a lovel piano-like quality, and it is stout enough to be flogged hard.
All in all, it's a picture-perfect jumbo guitar! I have no doubt it will blow your expectations ot smithereens, too!
This Larrivee J-10 quite clean save for one surgery: an expertly-repaired top crack courtesy of our friends at Woodsongs Lutherie. Other than that, it shows light signs of normal use with no notable dings, chips, or large scratches. The frets also show light wear and have plenty of pickin' left in them. It comes with its original hardshell case, too!
