2010 Gibson Custom Historic 1954 Les Paul Reissue - Historic Makeovers Light Aged, Deluxe Package Makeover

Condition of Instrument

This 2010 Gibson Custom Shop 1954 Reissue Goldtop presents beautifully, showing no notable signs of use or wear beyond the intentional aging and patina applied during its Historic Makeovers treatment. In 2025, the guitar was sent to Historic Makeovers for their Deluxe Package Makeover, their most comprehensive makeover package for Gibson instruments.

The Deluxe Package included extensive vintage-spec modifications, including steaming and resetting the neck with hot hide glue, re-carving the top, reshaping the neck to a vintage ’50s “C” profile, and installing a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with period-correct binding ledges and inlay routs. The fingerboard was fitted with exclusive 1950s-style cellulose nitrate inlays and new frets. The guitar was then completely refinished using aniline dyes and unplasticized nitrocellulose lacquer in a vintage-correct finish, followed by Historic Makeovers’ Vintage Patina treatment. The serial number was also re-stamped in a correct 1950s-style typeface.

The result is a highly detailed recreation that incorporates extensive vintage-correct work while retaining the character of the original Custom Shop instrument. The Historic Makeovers certificate of authenticity is included.
