After I played a chunky drop-D riff on this gorgeous Duane Allman "Hot 'Lanta" Les Paul, my coworker poked his head into my office and said "I had to come check it out...I felt my mustache growing a little bit." Sonic Evaluation

After I played a chunky drop-D riff on this gorgeous Duane Allman "Hot 'Lanta" Les Paul, my coworker poked his head into my office and said "I had to come check it out...I felt my mustache growing a little bit." This is the highest compliment an electric guitar can be paid in our workplace, and it is deserving of of its status as a facial follicle stimulator. It sounds positively burly, like a Les Paul that ate another Les Paul and absorbed its powers through some sort of transmutation ritual. It has a powerful woody fundamental alongside tons of overtones, and its attack is snappy and piano-like. High notes ring out so sweetly that they practically beg you to use expressive vibrato--whole notes have never sounded so good! The bridge pickup has enough beef to make plenty of neck pickups envious, with generous low-end, fat punchy mids, and sizzling highs. The neck pickup sounds quite deep and warm, and it has a woodier character overall, with vocal midrange and glassy, smooth highs. Though this guitar certainly captures the spirit of Duane Allman's sound, it can do a lot more than a pitch perfect Southern rock/blues tone. It will beat the world in pretty much any style that invites meaty, punchy humbucker tone. I had as much fun playing Sabbathian metal and punk rock on it as I did blues--a true testament to this instrument's tremendous capacity to inspire creativity. I have no doubt that you'll love it just as much as I did!
