Demand was so low that only eighty-one ever even shipped, making the original examples of Gibson's Modernist series some of the rarest, most valuable guitars ever built (not to mention, some of the coolest!). Now that the guitar-playing world has finally figured out that pointy guitars are cooler than Teddy Pendergrass sipping a milkshake in a snowstorm, our friends at the Gibson Custom Shop have decided to honor the Flying V's launch with a series of awesome 1958 reissues. Made of real korina just like the original run of eighty-one, these gorgeous examples of Custom Shop craftsmanship come decked out in all sorts of period-correct appointments like a real lacquer brass chevron on the tailpiece, a 4-ply pickguard, and True Historic plastics. And, the two Custombuckers sitting atop that korina body deliver delicious vintage PAF tone in spades. If you've ever wanted to experience the height of pointy-guitar Valhalla, this Custom Shop 1958 Korina V will get you there!
