Of course, the bird in question is this guitar from a special run of Original Collection Hummingbirds with maple back and sides and a spectacular dark cherry burst finish. Though it still has the responsiveness and robust tone that have made the Hummingbird a favorite of cutting-edge acoustic adventurers for decades, the maple back and sides give it a fresh, exciting voice unlike anything else in the Gibson stable. The spruce top gives us a balanced, powerful voice with a good blend of fundamental and overtone, but the maple back and sides impart an incredible chime to the high-end along with a bright, vibrant woodiness and outstanding clarity (not to mention, supreme articulation).
